Network Drive Control 1.21

Microsoft Windows does not map and display network drives by default. You may instruct the operating system to map them automatically when you log on, but you are likely to get frustrated by the time you will have to wait for the servers to connect and display the drives. Network Drive Control is a simple application that solves this problem by examining the network environment of the network to which it is connected and maps the drives in that network.

Using Network Drive Control

The program had a simple and well-organized graphical user interface that we found easy to handle. It featured large buttons for managing network drives on the lower part, with the upper part remaining for displaying the drives.

The details of the listed network included drive numbers, networks, drive letters, drive paths, user IDs, passwords and whether they were connected or not. On the lower right part of the program window was a check box that let us specify whether we wanted the application to run automatically when we started Windows. Below the check box was a larger box where we specified the required mapping start delay duration in minutes.

We added new drives easily by specifying the names of their respective networks, drive paths and names as well as logon credentials. Other ways in which we could manage the network drives included cloning and editing, connecting, disconnecting and editing drives. There was also a dedicated button for refreshing the list of network drives.

We could display passwords if we wanted by marking the Show Passwords check box on the lower middle part of the application window.
