AIMP is a popular audio player that integrates a number of features to ensure users enjoy their favorite songs among other things. It comes in both installer and portable versions, and users can select from a preset collection of skins. However, AIMP Skin Editor gives users the opportunity to customize the skins of the player to suit their individual preferences. You can use it to build a complete graphical user interface for the player.

Using AIMP Skin Editor

To use AIMP Skin Editor, you need a computer running Windows Vista or later operating system and AIMP v4.01.

The main program's window was divided into three sections: a toolbar on the upper part, a panel on the left for accessing extra functions and the workspace covering the remaining area on the right. From the panel, we could readily view the various structures in the elements of our design. It also allowed us to make every little modification we wanted.

On the other hand, the workspace on the right allowed us to view the object properties. Its tabbed interface let us select and view different parts of the skin we were building, such as the main form, drop wheel, tray control, context menu and QFI. The tab we chose automatically changed the structure appearing on the left panel to correspond with it.

The magnifier gave us the chance to have a close-up view of desired sections, with the magnifications being displayed at the tip of the cursor position. We could even magnify the menu items. The menu bar included file, project, desktop, windows and help.

We could switch from using the magnifier to viewing the activity log in the debugging console.

The toolbar gave us access to such tools as the display manager, effect controller, animator and art editor. It also allowed us to use different design functions for creating things like text boxes, gauge, menus, buttons and waveform or spectrum display. We used the build tool to apply our design to AIMP player, and we had the option to do this either manually or let the program do it automatically.

The project menu gave us the option to build skin, build and run or build skin as

Conclusion

AIMP Skin Editor is a comprehensive program for designing skins for the versatile AIMP player. You can use it to create everything, from aesthetic features to utility buttons. It comes with default templates, but you can also create your own design.
